The promontory of Capo Gallo is located in the north-western part of Palermo and separates the two gulfs of Mondello and Sferracavallo, and the homonymous fishing districts of the city of Palermo.

On the mountain resides a hermit artist, who at a young age chose the solitude of an old abandoned lighthouse on the mountain peak, the so-called “Semaforo Borbonico” (Bourbon traffic light), built in the 19th century. The hermit has given it new life with a cycle of pictorial decorations and mosaics inspired by an esoteric religious syncretism.

HOW IT WORK:

- Departure in the morning from the city centre by private van/machine

- The tour takes approximately 3 hours, including time to visit the lighthouse, take photographs and rest.

- Return by private van/machine to the city centre.

TO KNOW:

- The route is not particularly difficult, although some points are challenging to overcome due to the difference in altitude, however, a healthy physical condition and hiking clothing is required.

- Bring water, snacks and sunscreen with you.

- Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a leash (at the discretion of the group)
